Pfhorsaken Maps Docs

WHAT ARE THESE?
"I'll be your pfhrend" is a solo map for Marathon.
"I'll be your pfhrend 2" is a variation on the original, with some fairly significant differances. I think it is the better map.

"Metapfhor" is a completely different map.

"I'll be your pfhrend model" is a physics model for the maps, with "I'll be your pfhrend 2" specifically in mind.

"I'll be your pfhrend 2 demo" is a demo recording of "I'll be your pfhrend", using the physics model.

HOW WERE THEY MADE?
These maps were made using the excellent level editor, Pfhorte 1.0d18

The physics model was made using Marathon Physics Model Editor.

HOW DO I USE THEM?
Rename or move your original map file and place my file in the folder containing Marathon. Rename my file "Map". Open Marathon and select 'Begin new game'. Ignore warnings of imminent crashes.

If you want to use my physics model then drop it in the folder, and rename it "Physics Model".

To take a look at the film, you must have the map "I'll be your pfhrend 2" in the folder, and renamed "Map" before you open it. You should also have the physics model in the folder.

ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW?
Well, the maps use the special Rebellion scenario, which means that compilers are on your side. They still shoot bobs though. I did this to add a bit of interest.

The physics model improves the aliens without giving you any advantages yourself. If you think the levels are hard enough already, don't use it.

I'VE PLAYED YOUR MAP FOR AGES. HOW DO I GET OFF THE LEVEL?
You don't. These maps are designed as "Plotless blast maps", inspired by the map "20 Minutes of Hell". Aliens keep coming back, so there should always be something to blow away.

ANY BUGS OR PROBLEMS?
There was one bug in "I'll be your pfhrend" that caused Marathon to crash but I think I have fixed it.

One problem is that sometimes monsters are generated right before your eyes. For example, once I was in a room and a hulk appeared and hit me over the head, which was an exceptionally fatal experience. Just imagine that they teleported in or something.

WHO MADE THEM?
These maps were made by me, Allan Crossman
